Coordination of Ethylamine on Small Silver Clusters: Structural and Topological (ELF, QTAIM) Analyses

Corinne Lacaze-Dufaure et al.

Summary: Amine ligands are expected to drive the organization of metallic centers and the chemical reactivity of silver clusters during the synthesis of silver nanoparticles. Computational studies using density functional theory have characterized the structure and stability of small-size silver clusters with or without ethylamine ligands. The analysis of the Ag-N and Ag-Ag bond energies explains the transition from 2D to 3D structures. Electron transfer from ethylamine to the silver atoms increases the polarization of the metallic core.

Theoretical investigation of supramolecular hydrogen-bonded choline chloride-based deep eutectic solvents using density functional theory

Zubera Naseem et al.

Summary: This study investigated the structural and thermodynamic properties of choline chloride-based deep eutectic solvents using molecular dynamics simulations, revealing DES3 to be the most stable with extensive hydrogen-bonded network and higher polarizability, thermal stability, heat capacity, and entropy. On the other hand, DES1 showed lower viscosity but higher conductivity, dipole moment, electron mobility, and hole mobility.

DFT study of superhalogen (AlF4) doped boron nitride for tuning their nonlinear optical properties

Asmat Ullah Khan et al.

Summary: In this study, optical and nonlinear optical properties of B12N12 doped with superhalogen (AlF4) were investigated using density functional theory calculations. The doped clusters showed excellent electronic properties and a reduction in the HOMO-LUMO energy gap, altering the electronic nature from insulator to semiconductor. Superhalogen doping also had significant impacts on various optical and NLO properties, enhancing the NLO response.

DFT study of superhalogen-doped borophene with enhanced nonlinear optical properties

Muhammad Ishaq et al.

Summary: The study investigates the nonlinear optical properties of superhalogen-doped borophene with potential applications in electrical and optical fields. These superhalogen-based borophene materials show promise in lithium ion-based batteries and medical appliances, making them ideal for optoelectronic devices. The use of density functional theory (DFT) methods predicts that these materials can exhibit superior nonlinear optical properties and high capacity and resistance.

Summary: The study demonstrates that doping with superhalogens and superalkali metals can significantly alter the nonlinear optical properties of graphitic carbon nitride, making it a promising NLO material with higher hyperpolarizabilities. Doped GCN exhibits enhanced first and second hyperpolarizabilities, meeting the basic requirements for NLO response.
