Superior energy storage performance of < 001 > -oriented NBT-BY-STO relaxor ferroelectric textured ceramics

Cong Ji et al.

Summary: In this study, <001>-oriented ternary NBT-BY-STO textured ceramics were prepared by tape casting technique. Introduction of BY reduced grain size and increased breakdown field strength, resulting in improved energy storage density. <001>-orientation engineering enhanced relaxation behavior and saturation polarization, leading to significantly increased energy storage density and efficiency. The prepared textured ceramics exhibited excellent temperature, frequency stability, and charge-discharge characteristics, making them a potential dielectric material for pulse power devices.

Buffered template strategy for improving texture quality and piezoelectric properties of heterogeneous templated grain growth (K,Na)NbO3-based ceramics through interface engineering

Seonhwa Park et al.

Summary: Insights into the mechanical stress and microstructure of piezoelectric materials were necessary, as their properties can be significantly varied depending on these parameters. Constructing heterostructure templates showed promising potential in improving these aspects. In this study, BaTiO3 (BT) templates and elements-doped (K,Na)NbO3 (KNN) matrix powders were used to prepare heterostructure BT (h-BT) templates, which resulted in enhanced piezoelectric constant compared to those of the BT-KNN and nontextured ceramics.

Ultrahigh strain in texture d BCZT-base d lead-free ceramics with CuO sintering agent

Yingchun Liu et al.

Summary: Textured lead-free ceramics based on BaTiO3 (BT) have attracted attention for their high piezoelectric properties, but face challenges like high sintering temperatures and low Curie temperatures. In this study, highly oriented (Ba0.95Ca0.05)(Zr0.04Ti0.96)O3 ceramics with CuO sintering agent were successfully synthesized using templated grain growth, resulting in lower sintering temperatures and improved properties. The introduction of CuO and liquid-phase sintering led to reduced stresses, smaller grains, and enhanced piezoelectric coefficients in the BCZT-1.0 ceramics.

Ultrahigh energy harvesting properties in temperature-insensitive eco-friendly high-performance KNN-based textured ceramics

Jinfeng Lin et al.

Summary: This work systematically investigates high-performance potassium sodium niobate (KNN)-based ceramics and their potential application in energy harvesting devices. Through the synergy of textured structure and multiphase coexistence, the comprehensive performance of KNN-based piezoelectric ceramics has reached a new level and exhibits excellent temperature stability. The piezoelectric circular diaphragm (PCD) vibration energy harvester based on this textured ceramic material shows high output voltage and output power, maintaining good performance even in high-temperature environments.
