Effect of Gd and Co contents on the microstructural, magneto-optical and electrical characteristics of cobalt ferrite (CoFe2O4) nanoparticles

Yuzheng Lu et al.

Summary: In this study, rare earth Gd oxide doped CoFe2O4 NPs were synthesized using sol-gel auto-combustion, and their physical, magneto-optical, and electrical characteristics were investigated. The results showed that increasing content of Gd oxide and Co ions led to decreasing crystallite and grain sizes, as well as magnetic saturation in the synthesized NPs. Additionally, the synthesized samples exhibited semiconductor properties and showed a conducting trend at higher temperatures.
