Capillarity-promoted laser re-sintering of printed semisolid Cu nanoparticles for facile fabrication of conductive patterns with voidless structure and improved conductivity

Guannan Yang et al.

Summary: This work proposes a capillarity-promoted laser re-sintering method for printed semisolid Cu nanoparticles, which enables facile fabrication of conductive patterns with voidless structures and improved conductivity. By using a semisolid Cu particle paste, compact sintered structures are obtained with reduced resistivity. Through repeated laser scannings, the sintered layer on the circuits thickens and transits into a solid structure without internal voids, further reducing the resistivity. The capillary phenomena of the semisolid paste also promotes the closure of large-scale voids, driving the improvement of properties and formable thickness of the sintered circuits. These findings provide a new experimental basis for structure and property modifications of printed circuits using similar techniques.

Optimization and simulation of a carbon nanotube arrangement for transparent conductive electrodes with record-high direct current to optical conductive ratios

Shau-Liang Chen et al.

Summary: This study models the optical properties of regularly arranged multi-walled carbon nanotubes using the 3D-FDTD method and finds that both one-dimensional and two-dimensional arrays exhibit anisotropic optical behavior. By adjusting spacing and arrangement, the optimal structure for a CNT-based transparent conductive electrode with excellent optical and electrical performance is identified. The concept of "optical threshold" is introduced to solve the trade-off between light transmittance and sheet resistance, providing a CNT mesh with highly effective charge transport channels and high light transmittance.

High-Performance Transparent Copper Grid Electrodes Fabricated by Microcontact Lithography for Organic Photovoltaics

Philip Bellchambers et al.

Summary: This study introduces high-performance transparent copper grid electrodes that outperform conventional indium tin oxide electrodes for organic photovoltaic (OPV) applications. The fabrication method is cost-effective and efficient, with a faster process compared to conventional lithography. The ultra-narrow grid line spacing minimizes parasitic absorption losses, making it a promising solution for OPV devices.
