Voltage stabilizer and nanofiller in enhancement of insulation properties of cross-linked polyethylene

Xiangrong Chen et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the effects of voltage stabilizer and nanofiller addition on the insulation performance of cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE). The results show that the addition of nanofillers deteriorates the electrical insulation performance of XLPE, while the addition of voltage stabilizers proves to enhance its insulation performance. The hybrid XLPE composites exhibit medium behavior. The voltage stabilizer addition reduces the space charge density inside XLPE, whereas the nanofillers increase it. Both additives slightly improve the thermal stability of XLPE.

Enhancement of electrical properties by including nano-aluminum nitride to micro-silicon carbide/silicone elastomer composites for potential power module packaging applications

Xiangrong Chen et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the enhancement of electrical properties in micro-silicon carbide/silicone elastomer (m-SiC/SE) composites by adding nano-aluminum nitride (n-AlN). The study reveals that m-SiC/n-AlN/SE hybrid composites demonstrate improved nonlinear conductivity and DC breakdown strength compared to m-SiC/SE microcomposites. The addition of 3 wt% n-AlN filler in the hybrid composite provides the best enhancement effect on nonlinear conductivity and DC breakdown strength. A heterogeneous interface model is proposed to explain the mechanism behind the enhanced electrical properties of the m-SiC/n-AlN/SE composites.
