The 8-Week Efficacy of Frequency Rhythmic Electrical Modulated System (FREMS) as an Add-on Therapy in the Treatment of Symptomatic Diabetic Peripheral Polyneuropathy

Daria Gorczyca-Siudak et al.

Summary: Frequency Rhythmic Electrical Modulated System (FREMS) is an effective method of transcutaneous treatment for neuropathic pain in individuals with symmetric distal polyneuropathy (SDPN) as an add-on therapy to standard therapy. After 5 days of treatment, both FREMS and standard therapy showed significant reduction in pain as measured by visual analogue scale (VAS), but only FREMS treatment lasted for 8 weeks and induced significant improvements in quality of life and clinical global improvement.
