The Ratio of Red Blood Cell Distribution Width to Albumin Is Correlated With All-Cause Mortality of Patients After Percutaneous Coronary Intervention - A Retrospective Cohort Study

Yingbei Weng et al.

Summary: This study investigated the impact of the ratio of red blood cell distribution width (RDW) to albumin (RA) on all-cause mortality in patients after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). The results showed that a higher RDW to albumin ratio was associated with increased mortality in these patients. Additionally, the RDW to albumin ratio had a better predictive ability for mortality compared to RDW or albumin alone. There may also be a positive correlation between the RDW to albumin ratio and the severity of coronary artery disease in these patients.

The monocyte to high-density lipoprotein cholesterol ratio is a risk factor for frequent premature ventricular complexes: a retrospective cohort study

Yunfei Wang et al.

Summary: The monocyte to high-density lipoprotein cholesterol ratio (MHR) is positively and independently correlated with frequent premature ventricular complexes (PVCs) and can serve as a practical biomarker for predicting PVCs. It is crucial for risk stratification and prognosis, providing clinical value in the prevention and management of frequent PVCs.

Monocyte Recruitment, Specification, and Function in Atherosclerosis

Ki-Wook Kim et al.

Summary: Atherosclerotic lesions progress due to the recruitment and differentiation of circulating monocytes into macrophages within plaques, forming foam cells. Recent studies have used single-cell gene expression profiling to investigate the roles of macrophages and monocytes in inflammatory mechanisms, motility, and proliferation within lesions, but questions remain about tissue-specific regulation and the contribution of recruited monocytes during disease progression. Further research is needed to advance therapeutic strategies for cardiovascular disease based on these findings.

Hybrid coronary revascularization in multivessel coronary artery disease: a systematic review

Antonio Nenna et al.

Summary: Hybrid coronary revascularization (HCR) combines CABG and percutaneous intervention for multivessel CAD, showing the most benefit in low-to-intermediate risk patients with less complex coronary anatomy. However, in cases of highly complex disease and the presence of risk factors, conventional CABG is favored in terms of adverse events and survival.
