Xin Cui et al.

Summary: The substitution of biolubricant for mineral cutting fluids in aerospace material grinding is an important development direction, but the complex process of grinding difficult-to-machine materials presents challenges such as tool wear and workpiece damage. This review compares the grinding performance of different materials, analyzes the effects of the physicochemical properties of biolubricants on grindability, and provides recommendations for the use of biolubricants in different material grinding processes.

Soheyl Alidoust et al.

Summary: This study investigates the parameters affecting the relative thermal conductivity (RTC) of SWCNT (15%)-Fe3O4 (85%)/Water Hybrid Ferro-Nanofluid (HFNF). The study examines the contributions of temperature and solid volume fraction (SVF) and reports a significant increase in RTC for HFNF compared to water. The study also uses response surface methodology (RSM) to predict the behavior of HFNF and finds a high correlation and RTC sensitivity.

Effect of Metal Foam on Natural Convective Heat Transfer of Nanofluids in a Photothermal Conversion System

Zhibo Tang et al.

Summary: This study experimentally investigates the natural convective heat transfer of nanofluids partially filled with metal copper foam in a photothermal conversion system. The research finds that the Nusselt number increases with the increase of nanofluids mass fraction, but the enhancement ratio becomes less significant when the mass fraction is between 0.3% and 0.5%. Additionally, for copper foams with the same porosity, increasing the pore density leads to a more significant enhancement of the Nusselt number. Moreover, increasing the heating power can increase the Nusselt number, with a greater enhancement ratio observed at lower heating power.

Statistical modeling and investigation of thermal characteristics of a new nanofluid containing cerium oxide powder

Behrooz Ruhani et al.

Summary: This paper extracted the thermal conductivity of cerium oxide/ethylene glycol nanofluid for different temperatures and volume fractions of nanoparticles, and predicted it using Artificial Neural Network (ANN) and fitting method. The experiments showed an increase in the thermal conductivity ratio of the nanofluid with increasing volume fraction and temperature. It was observed that the rate of increase in thermal conductivity at high temperatures is higher than at low temperatures. The ANN proved to be highly effective in predicting the thermal behavior of the nanofluid.

Summary: In content-based image retrieval, image signatures play a critical role in representing visual characteristics and facilitating appropriate indexing and retrieval of comparable results. Previous methods using spatial information to differentiate image categories faced challenges in image detection. This study proposes a new technique called CBIR-SMANN to address this issue and achieve superior performance in similarity measurement and retrieval.

Summary: This study investigated the effect of tube inclination on heat transfer in granular flow moving bed heat exchangers using a discrete element method. It was found that tube inclination can improve heat transfer by increasing the heat transfer area, but uncertainties exist in the local heat transfer coefficients. Additionally, different effects were observed at different locations along the tube, with bottom area benefiting from increased heat transfer coefficient and top or middle areas experiencing opposing effects.
