Pol II CTD Code Light

In this issue of Molecular Cell, Schuller et al. (2016) and Suh et al. (2016) describe genetic and mass spectrometry methodologies for mapping phosphorylation sites on the tandem repeats of the RNA polymerase II CTD. The results suggest that the CTD Code may be simpler than expected.
