Integral imaging reconstruction system based on the human eye viewing mechanism

Yue-jia-nan Gu et al.

Summary: In this paper, a light field reconstruction method based on the human eye viewing mechanism is proposed to suppress the cross-mixing of light rays between adjacent lenses in integral stereo imaging systems. By establishing a light field model for specified viewpoint and accurately calculating the distribution of the light source, an EIA generation algorithm for fixed viewpoint is realized. A non-overlapping EIA based on the human eye viewing mechanism is designed to fundamentally reduce the amount of crosstalk rays, improving the actual viewing clarity with the same reconstructed resolution. Experimental results show that the proposed method is effective, with a SSIM value higher than 0.93 and an increased viewing angle range of 62 degrees.

Integral imaging using a MoS2 Schottky diode

Sungwon Choi et al.

Summary: We report the performance of a MoS2 Schottky diode in three-dimensional integral imaging. The Schottky diode exhibits excellent rectification ratio, broad spectral photoresponse range, near-ideal linearity, and wide linear dynamic range. Object pickup experiments using integral imaging validate the feasibility of a single-pixel imager as a 3D image sensor.

Tunable liquid crystal grating based holographic 3D display system with wide viewing angle and large size

Yi-Long Li et al.

Summary: Holographic 3D display is considered one of the most ideal display approaches, but current systems suffer from narrow viewing angle and small size. We propose a tunable liquid crystal grating-based holographic 3D display system with wide viewing angle and large size, breaking through the limitations of traditional systems.

Information theoretic performance evaluation of 3D integral imaging

Pranav Wani et al.

Summary: This paper presents an information-theoretic approach for simulating and evaluating the integral imaging capture and reconstruction process. Mutual information is used as a metric for evaluating the fidelity of the reconstructed 3D scene. The paper also considers passive depth estimation using mutual information and evaluates the effect of partial occlusion in integral imaging 3D reconstruction.

Dual-view one-dimensional integral imaging 3D display using a barrier array

Fei Wu et al.

Summary: A dual-view one-dimensional integral imaging 3D display using a barrier array has been proposed, consisting of an organic light emitting diode (OLED), a barrier array, and a liquid crystal panel. The viewing ranges of the left and right viewing zones increase with the viewing distance.
