Optimal Stealth Attack Strategy Design for Linear Cyber-Physical Systems

Xiao-Lei Wang et al.

Summary: This article investigates the problem of designing optimal stealth attack strategies for linear cyber-physical systems (CPSs). Virtual systems reflecting the attacker's target are constructed, and a linear attack model with varying gains is designed based on these virtual models. Unlike existing strategies, which are based on sufficient conditions, necessary and sufficient conditions are established to achieve optimal attack performance while maintaining stealth.

Resilient sliding mode control for a class of cyber-physical systems with multiple transmission channels under denial-of-service attacks

Jiahao Li et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the resilient sliding mode control problem for cyber-physical systems (CPSs) with multiple transmission channels under denial-of-service (DoS) attacks. A set of finite-time observers is designed, and a switched integral-type sliding surface is introduced. The number of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) decreases compared with some existing results in designing the observer-based controller, and the input-to-state stability (ISS) is guaranteed. Moreover, the input saturation and event-triggering scheme are considered in the controller and handled by an auxiliary system. The network congestion in the control channel is thus relieved, and the Zeno behavior is excluded simultaneously. Finally, an example of an unmanned stratospheric airship is given to demonstrate effectiveness of the proposed resilient control approach.

Consensus-based distributed two-target tracking over wireless sensor networks

Cong Zhang et al.

Summary: This paper studies the problem of target tracking over wireless sensor networks, focusing on two-target tracking with nonlinear dynamics and observation models. The proposed consensus-based distributed two-target tracking algorithms improve estimation accuracy by applying a fusion rule. The algorithms are extended to the multi-target case, and their performance is analyzed.

Attack Detection and Distributed Filtering for State-Saturated Systems Under Deception Attack

Li Li et al.

Summary: This article investigates a secure distributed filtering problem for a state-saturated system subject to random occurring nonlinearities and deception attack. An attack detector with a dynamic threshold is designed for each sensor to resist hostile attacks, and a distributed filtering algorithm is proposed to estimate system state. A sufficient condition is established to guarantee mean-square boundedness of the estimation error, and a critical attack probability and minimum attack magnitude are found to ensure the attack signal can be detected. The validity of the proposed results is demonstrated through a numerical example.

A secure strategy for a cyber physical system with multi-sensor under linear deception attack

Caiyun Wang et al.

Summary: This paper proposes a secure strategy for cyber physical systems (CPS) to defend against linear deception attacks by encrypting the innovation sequence with a watermark. The strategy enhances the accuracy of the chi 2 detector and prevents attackers from reducing estimated and control performance by adjusting watermark parameters. The effectiveness of the defense strategy is verified through a numerical example.
