Impedimetric Biosensor for Monitoring Complementary DNA from Hepatitis B Virus Based on Gold Nanocrystals

Mohsen Shariati

Summary: A highly sensitive label-free electrochemical impedance biosensor based on gold nanocrystals (AuNCs) was developed for detecting hepatitis B virus (HBV) in blood serum. The biosensor showed high sensitivity and selectivity in detecting HBV DNA, making it a potential candidate for practical applications.

Ultrasensitive and easily reproducible biosensor based on novel doped MoS2 nanowires field-effect transistor in label-free approach for detection of hepatitis B virus in blood serum

Mohsen Shariati et al.

Summary: An ultrasensitive field-effect transistor (FET) biosensor using ZnO-doped MoS2 nanowires (NWs) was developed for label-free detection of hepatitis B virus deoxyribonucleic acid (HBV DNA). The biosensor demonstrated high sensitivity (1 fM detection limit) and selectivity for HBV DNA, with a linear concentration range of 0.5 pM to 50 mM. The device showed excellent performance in discriminating complementary DNA oligonucleotides and maintaining its initial response over multiple measurements.

The cancer therapy materialization by theranostic nanoparticles based on gold doped iron oxide under electromagnetic field amplification

Mohsen Shariati

Summary: This study investigated the use of gold-decorated Fe3O4 theranostic nanoparticles in cancer X-ray radiation therapy under an electromagnetic field, demonstrating their effectiveness in enhancing local irradiation dose and restricting energy absorption. The results showed that the cytotoxic properties of Au-Fe3O4 NPs were higher under 2 Gy radiation compared to 6 Gy radiation, and around 90% of cancer cells population was eliminated under electromagnetic field and X-ray radiation therapy. The in vivo measurements indicated a significant deterioration in tumor shape and size after 3 weeks of X-ray treatment with Au-Fe3O4 NPs.
