Jian Haur Lee et al.

Summary: A novel near-ultraviolet (NUV) fluorescent BB4Ph based on the classic 1,1':4',1''-terphenyl fluorophore is designed, synthesized, and characterized. Summary: In this study, two deep-blue emitters based on diphenylanthracene (DPA) structures were successfully synthesized and characterized. Theoretical calculations and experimental results indicate that these materials have favorable triplet-triplet annihilation (TTA) mechanisms. OLED devices containing these emitters achieved high external quantum efficiency and deep-blue emissions. This work demonstrates the potential of multichromophoric strategy in designing fluorescent emitters for efficient deep-blue OLEDs even with low doping concentration.
