Flexible Cuprous Triazolate Frameworks as Highly Stable and Efficient Electrocatalysts for CO2 Reduction with Tunable C2H4/CH4 Selectivity

Lin-Ling Zhuo et al.

Summary: Flexible Cu(I) triazolate frameworks have been developed as efficient and stable electrocatalysts for CO2 reduction. By changing the size of the ligand side groups, the selectivity ratio of C2H4/CH4 can be tuned and inverted, leading to high selectivities of C2H4, CH4, and hydrocarbons. Computational simulations revealed the structural changes and cooperative interactions of Cu(I) during the reaction, and the ligand side groups played a critical role in controlling catalyst flexibility and selectivity.

Porous nitrogen-doped graphene nanofibers comprising metal organic framework-derived hollow and ultrafine layered double metal oxide nanocrystals as high-performance anodes for lithium-ion batteries

Chan Sic Kim et al.

Summary: The growth of unique nanostructures with multicomponent systems is a renowned strategy for developing advanced materials for various energy storage applications. In this study, multicomponent high-performance nanofibers were synthesized as anodes for lithium-ion batteries. The porous and highly conductive N-doped rGO scaffold provided structural integrity and rapid charge transfer, while the hollow and ultrafine LDO nanocrystals offered sufficient space and absorption capacity to handle the volume stress generated during repeated charge-discharge cycles.

A Binuclear Cerium-Based Metal-Organic Framework as an Artificial Monooxygenase for the Saturated Hydrocarbon Aerobic Oxidation with High Efficiency and High Selectivity

Guanfeng Ji et al.

Summary: An artificial binuclear cerium monooxygenase catalyst with high selectivity and activity for oxidation of inert C-H bonds was obtained by constructing a metal-organic framework (MOF) with active sites similar to natural enzymes. The MOF exhibited a unique catalytic performance and could be recycled without loss of selectivity and activity, providing a blueprint for designing new artificial monooxygenase for inert alkane oxidation.

Enhancing the Chemo-Enzymatic One-Pot Oxidation of Cyclohexane via In Situ H2O2 Production over Supported Pd-Based Catalysts

Joseph Brehm et al.

Summary: The combination of an evolved unspecific peroxygenase (UPO) and bimetallic Pd-based catalysts is highly effective for the oxidative valorization of cyclohexane. Alloying Pd with Zn enhances catalytic performance, while the large population of Pd-only clusters in other catalysts promotes undesired oxidation products.

Fine-Tuning the Micro-Environment to Optimize the Catalytic Activity of Enzymes Immobilized in Multivariate Metal-Organic Frameworks

Yi-Ming Li et al.

Summary: This study focuses on modifying the functionality and ratio of linkers in ZIFs using the MTV approach to optimize the activity of encapsulated enzymes. The research revealed a nonlinear correlation between enzyme activity and the ratio of hydrophilic linkers in MTV-ZIF-8, indicating the possibility of changing enzyme structure through conformation changes. The optimized BCL@ZIF-8 shows improved thermal and chemical stability compared to free BCL in solution, and also doubles the catalytic reactivity in kinetic resolution reactions.
