Analysis and optimized design of an actively controlled two-dimensional resonator

Tomas Vyhlidal et al.

Summary: The absorption properties and active actuation of two-dimensional delayed resonators (2D-DR) are studied, and the parameters of the 2D-DR absorber are optimized to simplify the problem and enhance stability. Design rules and positioning requirements are specified for the optimized 2D-DR design, and a numerical case study demonstrates the operable frequency range of the design.

Actively Tuned Noncollocated Vibration Absorption: An Unexplored Venue in Vibration Science and a Benchmark Problem

Nejat Olgac et al.

Summary: This article revisits actively tuned vibration absorbers from unconventional perspectives, highlighting features such as noncollocated suppression, overriding all modal characteristics, and real-time tuning. The well-studied delayed resonator concept is utilized to examine asymptotic stability and frequency limitations, revealing a paradoxical relationship between steady-state energy levels in passive and actively tuned absorber cases. These contributions are further clarified through a case study.

Two-dimensional delayed resonator for entire vibration absorption

Zbynek Sika et al.

Summary: The concept of one-dimensional active vibration absorber with time delayed feedback has been successfully transferred to two-dimensional vibration absorption. An ideal two-dimensional vibration absorber has been designed with active delayed position feedback at connecting joints to turn a physical active absorber into an ideal uni-frequency absorber.
