High temperature structure and vibrational properties of GdVO4

M. Anitha et al.

Summary: This manuscript presents the temperature evolution of crystal structure and vibrational properties of tetragonal GdVO4. The material exhibits anisotropic expansion with a larger coefficient of thermal expansion along the c-axis. The thermal expansion behavior is mainly influenced by the orientation and expansion of Gd-O bonds in the structure. The Raman spectroscopic investigations reveal a decreasing trend in all observed phonon mode frequencies and the low energy modes contribute significantly to the expansion of GdVO4.

Probing phase separation in Nd1-xSrxMnO3 (x ≈ 0.4, 0.5) polycrystals through temperature dependent magnetic and Raman spectroscopy studies

Ankit Bhoriya et al.

Summary: The manuscript discusses temperature-dependent magnetic transitions correlated to variations in the phonon modes in Nd1-xSrxMnO3. The crystal structure of the compounds is orthorhombic with Pbnm symmetry, confirmed by x-ray diffraction. Different phases like spin-glass, charge order, ferromagnetic, and paramagnetic are observed as temperature varies, showing the phase-separated nature of the material. Temperature-dependent Raman measurements reveal discontinuities in phonon mode shifts corresponding to magnetic transitions, which are attributed to various factors like lattice expansion, anharmonic interactions, and spin-phonon coupling.

Summary: This study investigates the synthesis and magnetic properties of Sr0.5Ba0.5ScxFe12-xO19/NiFe2O4 hard-soft nanocomposites, revealing that samples with Sc3+ doping exhibit complete exchange coupling behavior, while the saturation and remanent magnetizations decrease with increasing Sc content. Strong electromagnetic absorption was observed in all samples, with potential applications in high-frequency devices and radar-absorbing technology.

Study of the effect of ion irradiation on increasing the photocatalytic activity of WO3 microparticles

Artem L. Kozlovskiy et al.

Summary: This study investigated the use of low-energy helium ion irradiation to enhance the photocatalytic activity of tungsten oxide microparticles, specifically for the decomposition of Rhodamine B. The results showed that irradiation led to increased reaction rates, mineralization levels, and efficiency in removing COD from aqueous solutions. Additionally, cyclic tests indicated that the modified microparticles exhibited resistance to degradation, with retention of decomposition efficiency even after multiple cycles.

Summary: In this study, GdVO4 doped with Eu3+ was synthesized using a sol-gel method, and the optical properties were analyzed with respect to concentration variation and annealing temperature. As the annealing temperature increased, the material's crystallinity improved, leading to enhanced emission intensity. The potential applications of GdVO4: Eu3+(1 mol%) annealed at 800 degrees C include bioimaging, lighting, temperature sensing, and display devices.

Effect of doping of Ce4+/3+ on optical, strength and shielding properties of (0.5-x)TeO2-0.25MoO-0.25Bi2O3-xCeO2 glasses

A. L. Kozlovskiy et al.

Summary: The study explores the impact of dopant CeO2 concentrations on the efficiency of gamma radiation shielding using telluride glasses. Results show that increasing CeO2 concentration enhances glass density and decreases porosity, leading to improved shielding efficiency. The findings also indicate that doping with CeO2 can increase crack resistance, decrease glass degradation, and enhance resistance to degradation by 1.5-3 times depending on the dopant concentration.

Phase transformations in FeCo - Fe2CoO4/Co3O4-spinel nanostructures as a result of thermal annealing and their practical application

M. V. Zdorovets et al.

Summary: This research found that the formation of oxide spinel structures of type Fe2CoO4/Co3O4 through thermal annealing can increase the number of cycles for nanotubes by 1.5-1.7 times. The effectiveness of increasing the lifetime of anode materials is attributed to the enhanced resistance to degradation of Fe2CoO4/Co3O4 structures, leading to the acceleration of lithation processes.

Changes in the Structure, Magnetization, and Resistivity of BaFe12-xTixO19

Denis A. Vinnik et al.

Summary: BaFe12-xTixO19 hexaferrites were synthesized using a conventional ceramic method, and their crystal structure parameters, magnetic properties, and ac resistivity were studied. The occupation mechanism of titanium cations was confirmed, and it was found that with increasing titanium concentration and temperature, magnetic and ac resistivity values decreased monotonically, while the real part of permittivity increased with temperature.
