Accuracy of trial restorations from virtual planning: A comparison of two fabrication techniques

Summary: This study aimed to evaluate completely digital workflows for managing esthetic outcome through the production of trial restorations. The results showed that the accuracy of printed trial restorations was higher than that of milled trial restorations, but the latter had increased dimensions and compromised clinical fit. SLA 3D-printing technology provided the best fit.

Summary: This in vitro study investigated the accuracy of mock-ups fabricated with different silicone matrices. The results showed that the accuracy of mock-ups was significantly influenced by the labial margin position and the presence of palatal notches in the silicone matrices. The most accurate mock-ups were made using silicone matrices with equigingival labial margins and palatal notches.

The conservative approach was successfully implemented in an adult with pseudo class III malocclusion, using CAD-CAM technology to create monolithic lithium disilicate ceramic restorations.
