Bur Choice When Removing Zirconia Restorations

Summary: This study compared the cutting efficiency of a specialized bur and three general-purpose burs for the removal of zirconia restorations. It found that the single-use general-purpose bur demonstrated the highest efficiency. Therefore, using single-use burs for zirconia restoration removal should be strongly considered.

Effect of CAD/CAM Bur Deterioration on the Surface Roughness of Ceramic Crowns

Summary: The study evaluated the effect of repetitive milling on the surface roughness of ceramic crowns. Results showed that bur deterioration had a larger effect on the surface roughness of feldspathic ceramic crowns compared to zirconia crowns, with hard milled feldspathic crowns exhibiting higher surface roughness than soft milled zirconia crowns.
