Self-aggregate performance of hexyl alginate ester derivative synthesized via SN2 reaction for controlled release of λ-cyhalothrin

Xiusiiong Chen et al.

Summary: By synthesizing hexyl alginate ester derivative (HAED), the strong hydrophilicity of alginate can be changed to good amphiphilic property, expanding its application as a new pesticide-controlled release system. The synthesized HAED exhibits good self-aggregate performance and can form stable self-aggregated spherical micelles. HAED microcapsules show high encapsulation efficiency and sustained-release property for the hydrophobic drug LCH.

Development of chitosan/halloysite/graphitic-carbon nitride nanovehicle for targeted delivery of quercetin to enhance its limitation in cancer therapy: An in vitro cytotoxicity against MCF-7 cells

Mahdi Sabzini et al.

Summary: In this study, a hydrogel nanocomposite of chitosan (CS), halloysite (HNT), and graphitic-carbon nitride (g-C3N4) was used to load quercetin (QC) for sustained release in anticancer applications. The addition of g-C3N4 enhanced the entrapment effectiveness of QC, and the pH-responsive behavior of the nanocomposite helped minimize the side effects of the anticancer agent. The CS/HNT/g-C3N4 delivery platform is a unique pH-sensitive drug delivery system that improves the loading and sustained release of QC for anticancer purposes.
