Phase diagram, band structure and density of states in two-dimensional attractive Fermi-Hubbard model with Rashba spin-orbit coupling

Rui Han et al.

Summary: By calculating the self-consistent pairing gap, the dependence of the phase diagram on the SOC strength and Zeeman field in the 2D attractive Fermi-Hubbard model with Rashba SOC is investigated. It is found that the phase transition from BCS superfluid to topological superfluid occurs at appropriate Zeeman field and SOC strength. The topological superfluid region exhibits a dome-like shape with increasing SOC strength, in contrast to the monotonic decrease in the BCS superfluid region. An optimal region in the phase diagram is identified for the experimental realization of the topological superfluid in optical lattice. Furthermore, the changes in band structure and density of states during the topological phase transition are analyzed, and the four peaks in the DOS of the topological superfluid are explained by the topological change in the low-energy branch of quasiparticle energy spectra. Moreover, the topological superfluid can be suppressed by doping concentration.

Dynamic structure factor of one-dimensional Fermi superfluid with spin-orbit coupling

Zheng Gao et al.

Summary: We calculate the density dynamic structure factor of one-dimensional Fermi superfluid with Raman-type spin-orbit coupling and analyze its main dynamical characteristics during the phase transition between Bardeen-Cooper-Schrieffer superfluid and topological superfluid. Our results show four types of single-particle excitations induced by the two-branch structure of the single-particle spectrum, and the cross single-particle excitation is more easily observed in the spin dynamic structure factor at a small transferred momentum. Additionally, we observe a new rotonlike collective mode at a fixed transferred momentum q similar to 2(k)F, which only appears in the topological superfluid state.

Coherent control of spin tunneling in a driven spin-orbit coupled bosonic triple well

Yuxin Luo et al.

Summary: In this study, the coherent control and spin tunneling phenomena of a spin-orbit coupled boson trapped in a driven triple well were investigated. Through numerical simulations and analytical solutions, the directed spin-flipping and spin-conserving tunneling of the system were revealed. Additionally, a potential scheme for a quantum spin tunneling switch with or without spin-flipping was proposed.

Physics of manipulation of spin dynamics in a driven double well made transparent

Summary: This study investigates the coherent manipulation of quantum spin dynamics in a driven double well for a spin-orbit coupled ultracold atom, revealing interesting phenomena such as spin flipping and tunneling. Surprisingly, selective coherent destruction of tunneling is found to occur at non-crossing points of quasienergy spectrum, challenging conventional understanding.

Controlling directed atomic motion and second-order tunneling of a spin-orbit-coupled atom in optical lattices

Xiaobing Luo et al.

Summary: In this study, the tunneling dynamics of a single spin-orbit-coupled atom trapped in an optical lattice subjected to lattice shaking and time-periodic Zeeman field was theoretically explored. It was found that spin-orbit (SO) coupling affects the tunneling dynamics in both multiphoton resonance and far-off-resonance parameter regimes. The results suggest potential applications in spin-based quantum information processing and spintronics device design.
