Spin-photogalvanic effect in chiral lead halide perovskites

Ruiheng Pan et al.

Summary: This study demonstrates the circular photogalvanic effect (CPGE) and linear photogalvanic effect (LPGE) in (R-MBA)(2)PbI4 and (S-MBA)(2)PbI4 thin film materials. These effects exhibit decent two-fold symmetry for a complete cycle in a wide temperature range from 4 K to 300 K. The effect can be effectively tuned by constant magnetic fields, and the Bychkov-Rashba spin orbit coupling and chiral-induced magnetization are responsible for it. This research shows the promising future of using chiral lead halide perovskites for spin-orbitronics.

Factors influencing self-trapped exciton emission of low-dimensional metal halides

Ying Han et al.

Summary: Organic-inorganic hybrid metal halides (MHs) are widely used in photoelectric applications due to their excellent structure and tunability. By utilizing larger organic cations to separate inorganic metal halides, low-dimensional MHs (LDMHs) can be created at the molecular level, including 2D layers, 1D chains, and 0D clusters. These LDMHs exhibit distinct luminescence properties from 3D MHs, mainly due to the radiative recombination of self-trapped excitons or defect states. The luminescence properties of LDMHs can be greatly altered by factors such as structure distortions and molecular engineering.

Magnetic-field manipulation of circularly polarized photoluminescence in chiral perovskites

Ruiheng Pan et al.

Summary: The study systematically investigates the temperature and magnetic field dependence of circular polarization and total intensity in chiral HOIPs, demonstrating that the magnetic field can manipulate both the polarization and intensity of CPL in chiral HOIPs. Furthermore, the study shows that magnetic field can induce magneto-PL in chiral HOIPs.

Surface polarization and recombination for quasi-2D and 3D methylammonium lead bromide light emitting diodes

Xiaojuan Sun et al.

Summary: In the aspect of charge injection for perovskite light emitting diodes (PeLEDs), surface polarization can affect electron-hole recombination. This study examines the mechanisms of quasi-2D and 3D lead-bromide perovskite based PeLEDs. The results show a negative capacitive effect at low frequencies, indicating surface polarization induced recombination. The study suggests that slow time responses of surface polarization play a significant role in PeLED operations.

Electron-phonon interactions in halide perovskites

Yasuhiro Yamada et al.

Summary: This article discusses the uniqueness of perovskite semiconductors from the viewpoint of electron-phonon interactions. The formation of polarons is crucial for carrier transport in perovskite semiconductors, and the experimental results and models regarding effective carrier mass and carrier mobility are reviewed. Two physical phenomena related to strong electron-phonon interactions, strong anti-Stokes photoluminescence and slow hot-carrier cooling, are briefly explained.

The Intrinsic Photoluminescence Spectrum of Perovskite Films

Tom P. A. van der Pol et al.

Summary: Photoluminescence spectroscopy is crucial for studying material properties and dynamic effects in metal-halide perovskite optoelectronic systems. However, self-absorption and thin film cavity effects need to be considered, and an optical model is proposed to accurately explain the spectral lineshape and extract the intrinsic spectrum of the film.

Inactive (PbI2)2RbCl stabilizes perovskite films for efficient solar cells

Yang Zhao et al.

Summary: In halide perovskite solar cells, introducing RbCl doping effectively stabilizes the perovskite phase by converting excess PbI2 into an inactive compound. This strategy achieved a certified PCE of 25.6% for FAPbI(3) perovskite solar cells, with high device stability and minimal hysteresis effects.

Observation of large Rashba spin-orbit coupling at room temperature in compositionally engineered perovskite single crystals and application in high performance photodetectors

Abd Rashid bin Mohd Yusoff et al.

Summary: This study observed a large Rashba splitting in metal halide perovskite single crystals through compositional engineering, leading to indirect absorption and dual peak photoluminescence. The partial substitution of organic cations by rubidium in single crystals induced a significant Rashba effect, showing the potential of facile compositional engineering in advancing optoelectronic properties. The findings also demonstrated a promising application of spin-momentum locking in perovskite optoelectronic devices.
