Atomic resolution with high-eigenmode tapping mode atomic force microscopy

N. Severin et al.

Summary: In this study, we demonstrated that conventional tapping mode atomic force microscopy with high cantilever eigenmodes and subnanometer amplitudes can achieve routine atomic imaging at atmospheric pressures. The combination of high effective spring constants and high flexibility of the cantilever enhances imaging stability and allows for atomic imaging of solid surfaces in gaseous environments and at elevated temperatures.

Shaping surfaces and interfaces of 2D materials on mica with intercalating water and ethanol

Abdul Rauf et al.

Summary: The wetting behavior of water and ethanol on interfaces between different materials varies, with water forming labyrinthine structures and ethanol forming compact morphologies. This morphology is determined by the characteristics of the materials and the interactions between molecules.

Vanadium-Doped Monolayer MoS2 with Tunable Optical Properties for Field-Effect Transistors

Jian Zhang et al.

Summary: Substitutional doping of monolayer transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs) with vanadium has been successfully achieved, resulting in significant enhancement of photoluminescence (PL) intensity and dominance of exciton recombination over trion recombination. Controllable vanadium doping allows for tuning of optical bandgap of MoS2 and threshold voltage of field-effect transistors (FETs). This study demonstrates the potential for applications in optoelectronics by preparing Mo-based monolayer TMDs with controllable vanadium doping.
