A first-in-human study of the anti-inflammatory profibrinolytic TMS-007, an SMTP family triprenyl phenol

Takashi Moritoyo et al.

Summary: TMS-007, a member of the SMTP family, modulates plasminogen conformation and enhances plasminogen-fibrin binding, promoting endogenous fibrinolysis. It also exhibits anti-inflammatory action through the inhibition of soluble epoxide hydrolase. The study evaluates the safety, pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of TMS-007 in healthy volunteers.

A validated capillary microsampling liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry method for quantification of antisense oligonucleotides in mouse serum

Long Yuan et al.

Summary: This study is the first to report the use of capillary microsampling (CMS) for quantitative bioanalysis of antisense oligonucleotides (ASOs) using liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry. The developed method was successfully validated and applied in a safety study in mice, demonstrating equivalent performance between CMS samples and conventional samples. The utility of CMS strategy has further been applied to other ASOs.

Impact of SMTP Targeting Plasminogen and Soluble Epoxide Hydrolase on Thrombolysis, Inflammation, and Ischemic Stroke

Keiji Hasumi et al.

Summary: SMTP is a group of small molecules derived from the fungus S. microspora, which modulate plasminogen and possess anti-inflammatory effects. Certain SMTP congeners have shown potential in improving ischemic stroke by enhancing fibrinolysis and suppressing hemorrhagic transformation. One SMTP congener is currently under clinical study and development for potential therapeutic use.
