Vibrational calling signals improve the efficacy of pheromone traps to capture the brown marmorated stink bug

Livia Zapponi et al.

Summary: This study assessed the attractiveness of vibrational signals in increasing the effectiveness of pheromone traps for the brown marmorated stink bug. The results showed that the bimodal vibrotrap was highly attractive for the bug, and the optimized vibrational signal significantly improved its effectiveness.

Combination of UV and green light synergistically enhances the attractiveness of light to green stink bugs Nezara spp

Nobuyuki Endo et al.

Summary: The study found that monochromatic green light is less attractive to the southern green stink bug, but when mixed with UV light, it synergistically enhances the attractiveness of UV light. This finding contributes to the construction of reliable and highly specific light traps to monitor the southern green stink bug.

Improved Captures of the Invasive Brown Marmorated Stink Bug, Halyomorpha halys, Using a Novel Multimodal Trap

Gabriele Rondoni et al.

Summary: A multimodal trap combining visual and olfactory stimuli was developed and evaluated for capturing the brown marmorated stink bug. The trap featuring a combination of UV-A and blue or green visible light wavelengths showed higher attraction to the stink bugs compared to traditional sticky or small pyramidal traps. The synergistic effect of synthetic pheromone and LED enhanced the positive phototaxis of the stink bugs.

In search of the spectral composition of an effective light trap for the mushroom pest Lycoriella ingenua (Diptera: Sciaridae)

Sandor Kecskemeti et al.

Summary: Fungus gnats like Lycoriella ingenua show strong attraction to both UV and green light, suggesting the use of both UV (around 370-398 nm) and green light (around 526 nm) in traps to capture these insects effectively.
