Mouse Adapted SARS-CoV-2 (MA10) Viral Infection Induces Neuroinflammation in Standard Laboratory Mice

Summary: Increasing evidence suggests that SARS-CoV-2 infection affects neurological function, and developing laboratory mouse models is important for studying the underlying mechanisms. Our study demonstrates that SARS-CoV-2 (MA10) infection induces neuroinflammation in laboratory mice and could be used as a novel model to study SARS-CoV-2-mediated cerebrovascular pathology.

Larger sample sizes and longitudinal studies are needed to better understand the mediating mechanisms between COVID-19, GMV, and neuropsychiatric symptoms.
