A New Pt(II) Complex with Anionic s-Triazine Based NNO-Donor Ligand: Synthesis, X-ray Structure, Hirshfeld Analysis and DFT Studies

Mezna Saleh Altowyan et al.

Summary: In this study, a new [Pt(Triaz)Cl] complex was synthesized by the reaction of PtCl2 with s-triazine-type ligand (HTriaz) (1:1). Single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis revealed that the ligand (HTriaz) formed an NNO tridentate chelate with two N-atoms from the s-triazine and hydrazone moieties and one oxygen from the deprotonated phenolic OH. Hirshfeld surface analysis showed that the most dominant interactions were H center dot center dot center dot H, H center dot center dot center dot C, and O center dot center dot center dot H intermolecular contacts. The electron transfer from the ligand groups to the Pt(II) metal center was predicted using NBO calculations, and the electronic spectra were assigned based on TD-DFT calculations.

Substitution effect on new Schiff base ligand in complexation with some divalent metal ion; synthesis, characterization, DFT and cytotoxicity studies

Amal S. Basaleh et al.

Summary: New transition metal complexes derived from bromo/nitro salicylaldehyde derivatives and pyrazine were synthesized and studied in this research. The binding ability of the complexes with metals was analyzed based on charge distribution analysis, and the biological properties were predicted using quantum chemical calculations. The complexes exhibited significant binding with DNA and showed potential anticancer activity against three cancer cell lines, with the Cu(II)-L1 complex showing the strongest inhibitory activity.

Transition metal complexes of 6-mercaptopurine: Characterization, Theoretical calculation, DNA-Binding, molecular docking, and anticancer activity

Abeer A. Sharfalddin et al.

Summary: 6-mercaptopurine (6-MP) is a bidentate ligand that forms stable metal complexes, with the copper (II) complex showing promising anticancer activity and a critical binding constant value of 8 x 105. Docking studies suggest potential biological applications of the synthesized drug-metal complexes.
