The regulation research of topology and magnetic exchange models of CPs through Co(II) concentration adjustment

Xiuyan Dong et al.

Summary: We have synthesized two new Co-CPs with different structures by adjusting the concentration of cobalt ions. CP 1 is a three-dimensional pillar-layered network with a 10-connected topology, while CP 2 is a three-dimensional reticular framework with a (4,4,5,5,6)-connected topology. The structural diversity of the two CPs is attributed to the variation of cluster numbers and local coordination geometries of Co(II) ions. The magnetic interactions between cobalt ions in CP 1 and CP 2 are different, with ferromagnetic coupling in CP 1 and antiferromagnetic behavior in CP 2.

A comparative study of proton conduction between two new Cd(II) and Co(II) complexes and in vitro antibacterial study of the Cd(II) complex

Yuyan Li et al.

Summary: Two new complexes based on 4, 4'-[1, 3-phenylenebis (oxy)]diphthalic acid (H4L) ligands were synthesized and transformed from 2D to 3D supramolecular structures through C-H...pi interaction. The complexes showed similar proton conductivity at low temperature but exhibited different conduction mechanisms. Additionally, one of the complexes showed excellent antibacterial properties in vitro.

2D isostructural Ln(III)-based coordination polymer derived from Imidazole carboxylic acid: Synthesis, structure and magnetic behavior

Tianrui Qin et al.

Summary: Three new lanthanide-based two-dimensional network like coordination polymers have been synthesized and characterized. The phase purity and thermal stabilities of these polymers have been assessed using powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD) and thermo-gravimetric analyses (TGA). Structural analysis reveals the formation of infinite metal-carboxylate oxygen chains in compound 1. The magnetic properties indicate large magnetic anisotropy for compounds 1 and 3, and ferromagnetic interaction for compound 2.

Structural influence of the length and functionality of N,N-donor spacers in Cd(II) ladder-type coordination polymers

Daniel Ejarque et al.

Summary: The study investigates the effect of small differences in organic ligands on the arrangement of coordination polymers (CPs). Reactions between Cd(OAc)2middot2H2O, alpha-acetamidocinnamic acid (HACA), and various N,N-donor spacers with increasing length and additional functionalities have been carried out successfully. The crystal structures of the resulting CPs have been elucidated, showing a family of ladder-type 1D CPs. UV-Vis and photoluminescence measurements demonstrate their blue-emitting properties.

Tuning Photophysical Properties via Positional Isomerization of the Pyridine Ring in Donor-Acceptor-Structured Aggregation-Induced Emission Luminogens Based on Phenylmethylene Pyridineacetonitrile Derivatives

Haiya Sun et al.

Summary: A series of phenylmethylene pyridineacetonitrile derivatives with aggregation-induced emission (AIE) were synthesized by tuning the substitution position of the pyridine ring. The molecular configuration and photophysical properties were influenced by the linkage manner of the pyridine ring. o-DBCNPy showed the highest fluorescence quantum yield and longest fluorescence lifetime among the three isomers. Furthermore, o-DBCNPy-based OLEDs exhibited superior electroluminescence performance compared to the devices based on the other two isomers.

Amide-Driven Secondary Building Unit Structural Transformations between Zn(II) Coordination Polymers

Daniel Ejarque et al.

Summary: The study synthesized four Zn(II) CPs involving alpha-acetamidocinnamic acid and 4,4'-bipyridine, and investigated their crystal structures and reversibility through different reactions and structural transformations. The research revealed the variations in properties and photoluminescence effects of these CPs due to structural differences and solvent/temperature influence.
