Coupling annealed silver nanoparticles with a porous silicon Bragg mirror SERS substrate and machine learning for rapid non-invasive disease diagnosis

Shibin Han et al.

Summary: Ag2O-Ag-porous silicon Bragg mirror (PSB) composite SERS substrates were synthesized using electrochemical and thermochemical methods. The SERS signal was enhanced by using Ag2O nanoshells, preventing natural oxidation of Ag nanoparticles and providing solid localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR). A rapid screening model for diagnosing Sjo·gren's syndrome (SS) and Diabetic nephropathy (DN) using SERS technology and machine learning algorithms was developed, showing high diagnostic accuracy, sensitivity, and selectivity. The study highlights the potential of the composite substrate for commercial SERS chip development in medical testing.
