Spectrophotometric and fluorometric methods for effective monitoring of rust state in boiler systems and Fe2+ion in pharmaceutical samples

This paper describes the development of a novel chemical sensor for assessing the degree of Fe2+ ion rusting in various water samples. Effective monitoring of rust state in boiler systems is essential for maintaining equipment performance. The created sensor has the potential to perceive Fe2+ ions even at trace levels and can be recycled and reused with good precision. The sensor showed strong correlation with ICP data in detecting rusted state in boiler systems.
In this paper, we describe the development of a novel chemical sensor with good prospects for assessing the degree of Fe2+ ion rusting in various water samples such as boiler systems which can cause significant damage to the equipment, reduce energy efficiency, and ultimately result in costly repairs or replacements. Therefore, effective monitoring of rust state in boiler systems is essential for maintaining the equipment's optimal performance and prolong its lifespan. Condensation of 2-acetylpyridine with NH2-MIL-53(Al) MOF is the basis for the sensor material that was created. The created chemical sensor has the potential to perceive Fe2+ ions colorimetry even at a trace level of ferrous ions (0.04 ppm) and fluorometry (0.05 ppm) in less than (10 s) and easy process. After recycling and renewal using 0.1 M Na2S2O3 to un-chelate the ferrous ions from the used sensor and create a metal-free sensor once more, the manufactured sensor can also be reused numerous times in the detecting system with good precision. When the sensor was used to check the level of Fe2+ in several water samples, and biological and pharmaceutical samples, the results showed a strong correlation with the ICP data that had already been recorded. The findings showed that the 2AP = N-MIL-53(Al) sensor, which was created, offers effective and trustworthy colorimetric and fluorometric sensing for tracking and assessing the rusted state in boiler systems.
