Pluronic F127/Doxorubicin microemulsions: Preparation, characterization, and toxicity evaluations

Abbas Rahdar et al.

Summary: This study focuses on the formulation and characterization of oil-in-water Pluronic F127 microemulsions to enhance the bioavailability of doxorubicin (DOX). The interaction details of DOX with ethyl butyrate, sodium caprylate, and Pluronic F127 were investigated using density functional theory calculations. The experimental results show that Pluronic F127/DOX microemulsions induce morphological changes and have stronger cytotoxic effects compared to standard DOX.

Enhancement of water solubilization of quercetin by meglumine and application of the solubilization concept to a similar system

Adrien Fusina et al.

Summary: In this study, meglumine was found to enhance the water-solubility of quercetin, and pH was identified as a crucial factor. The charge state of quercetin at different pH values was estimated, and a pH of 8 was found to provide a balance between solubility enhancement and oxidative stability. The solubilization mechanism involves proton exchange and hydrogen bonding.

Biochemical effects of deferasirox and deferasirox-loaded nanomicellesin iron-intoxicated rats

Abbas Rahdar et al.

Summary: Deferasirox formulated in microemulsions shows improved bioavailability and anti-lipid peroxidation effects, with lower toxicity in treating iron-intoxicated rats. DFX-loaded microemulsions have the potential to reduce serum biochemical parameters and oxidative stress.

Structural and functional changes of catalase through interaction with Erlotinib hydrochloride. Use of Chou's 5-steps rule to study mechanisms

Somaye Shahraki et al.

Summary: Erlotinib hydrochloride is used to treat various types of cancer, and in this study, its interaction with bovine liver catalase was investigated using spectroscopic and computational methods. The results showed a decrease in enzymatic function of BLC in the presence of Erlo, and different forces were found to play a role in the interaction process. Theoretical calculations and experimental analysis provided a deeper understanding of drug interactions with important biological molecules.

F127/Cisplatin Microemulsions: In Vitro, In Vivo and Computational Studies

Saman Sargazi et al.

Summary: The study focuses on developing strategies for local administration of chemotherapeutic drugs to minimize adverse side effects, with the formulation and characterization of Pluronic F127 microemulsions to enhance the bioavailability of Cisplatin (Cis). The results suggest that F127/Cis microemulsions induced lower cytotoxicity/morphological changes compared to free Cis, both in vitro and in vivo. The interactions between F127 and Cis, particularly hydrogen bonding interactions, may play a role in the reduced toxicity of F127/Cis.

HL-7 and HL-10 Peptides Stimulate Insulin Secretion in the INS-1 Insulinoma Cell Line through Incretin-Dependent Pathway and Increasing the Glucose Uptake in L6 Myoblast

Zahra Setayesh-Mehr et al.

Summary: The study showed that peptides HL-7 and HL-10 had similar effects to positive controls on glucose uptake and cell proliferation, and increased insulin secretion in a dose-dependent manner. Inhibitory assay results demonstrated competitive behavior of the peptides against DPPIV enzyme activity, indicating their potential in increasing insulin secretion through pancreatic beta cell proliferation and inhibiting DPPIV enzyme.
