Impact of Thermally Reducing Temperature on Graphene Oxide Thin Films and Microsupercapacitor Performance

Vusani M. Maphiri et al.

Summary: The study investigated the preparation and analysis of thermally reduced graphene oxide (TRGO) thin film on microscopic glass. The decrease in oxygen functional groups in TRGO led to restacking, color change, and transparency of graphene sheets. Raman spectrum deconvolution revealed detailed parameters of the film, while the electrochemical performance of microsupercapacitor showed excellent electric double-layer capacitor behavior. Power law and Trasatti's analysis demonstrated different control behaviors in low-temperature and high-temperature TRGO microsupercapacitors.

Investigation of Li-rich manganese oxide spinel structures for electrochemical water oxidation catalysis

Deepika Tavar et al.

Summary: Efficient and cost-effective catalysts are crucial for the development of the oxygen evolution reaction. In this study, nanostructured spinels LiMn2O4 and Li4Mn5O12 were synthesized at low temperatures and demonstrated superior electrocatalytic performance for alkaline water oxidation reactions. The LiMn2O4 spinel with Li substitution showed the lowest overpotential and highest current density, while the Li4Mn5O12 spinel exhibited the lowest charge transfer resistance. XPS and TEM analysis confirmed the stability of Li4Mn5O12 after electrocatalytic reactions.

Amorphous cobalt-manganese sulfide electrode for efficient water oxidation: Meeting the fundamental requirements of an electrocatalyst

Shital B. Kale et al.

Summary: The amorphous (Co-Mn)S tailored into nanosheets and deposited on stainless steel substrates showed high efficiency and stability as an electrocatalyst for oxygen evolution reaction. By tuning the composition stoichiometrically, the electrocatalytic activity and OER performance were effectively enhanced, resulting in high current density at low overpotential. With the benefits of redox chemical properties and binder-free deposition, the (Co3Mn2)S thin film electrocatalyst achieved promising OER performance and stability, making it a candidate for large-scale applications.

Enhanced Performance of the OMS-2-Supported CuOx Catalysts for Carbon Monoxide, Ethyl Acetate, and Toluene Oxidation

Zhidan Fu et al.

Summary: The study showed that the 15Cu/OMS-2 sample exhibited the best catalytic activities due to the presence of Cu species and Mn3+/Mn4+ redox couples, rich oxygen vacancies, good oxygen mobility, low-temperature reducibility, and strong interaction between the Cu species and the OMS-2 support. The excellent oxygen mobility and electron transfer between Cu species and Mn3+/Mn4+ redox couples might contribute to the continuous replenishment of active oxygen species, leading to an increase in reactant reaction rate.
