Bright future by enhancing the stability of methylammonium lead triiodide perovskites thin films through Rb, Cs and Li as dopants

Amal Bouich et al.

Summary: This paper focuses on the doping of methylammonium lead iodide (MAPbI3) with small amounts of rubidium (Rb), lithium (Li) and caesium (Cs) to enhance the crystallisation of MAPbI3 films. Doping significantly increases the (110) diffraction peak, indicating improved crystal formation. The dominant Raman peak at 148 cm-1 in doped MAPbI3 films corresponds to the symmetric vibration of the anion sublattice. These findings provide insights into the crystallisation process of MAPbI3 and offer new methods for developing stable and high-performance devices based on this material.

Influence of Annealing Temperature on Optical Properties of Sandwiched ZnO/Metal/ZnO Transparent Conductive Thin Films

Qijing Lin et al.

Summary: Two sandwiched ZnO/Metal/ZnO transparent conductive thin films with different intermediate layers were fabricated using magnetron sputtering technology. Comparative analysis showed that the addition of a Ti layer improved the overall properties of the ZnO(Ti/Cu) film compared to the ZnO(Cu) film with the same metal layer thickness. The effect of annealing temperature was also studied, revealing that although the carrier concentration did not always increase with temperature, the sheet resistances decreased due to increased mobility. The transmittance of ZnO(Cu) films increased with annealing temperature, while that of ZnO(Ti/Cu) films initially increased and then decreased. The optical band gap of ZnO(Cu) films increased with temperature, but was lower than that of ZnO(Ti/Cu) films, which first increased and then decreased. The figure of merit for the ZnO(Ti/Cu) film was better, indicating that its overall performance was superior, and annealing improved the performance of the film systems.

Graphene compared to fluorine-doped tin oxide as transparent conductor in ZnO dye-sensitized solar cells

Claudia C. Villarreal et al.

Summary: This study investigates the technical feasibility of using graphene produced by chemical vapor deposition (CVD) to replace tin oxides in dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs). Graphene shows higher transparency and electrical conductivity compared to tin oxides, resulting in larger open circuit voltage and short circuit current density. However, the higher sheet resistance of graphene leads to a lower fill factor. Despite being much thinner than tin oxides, graphene-DSSCs and tin oxide DSSCs exhibit similar power conversion efficiencies.
