Long-term stable and highly efficient photoluminescence from Sr2+-doped CsPbBr3 nanocrystals in boro-germanosilicate glass

Zhanmeng Zhang et al.

Summary: In this work, the stability of CsPbBr3 perovskite nanocrystals (NCs) is improved by embedding them in glass and doping with Sr2+ ions. The emission wavelength of CsPbBr3 NCs can be tuned by changing heat treatments and Sr2+ doping concentrations. The maximum photoluminescence quantum efficiency of Sr2+-doped CsPbBr3 glass is 74.2%, and it further increases to 81.7% after 60 days of storage. Sr2+ doping also enhances the thermal stability and water resistance of CsPbBr3 NCs, making them suitable for high-performance optical devices.

Glass formation and properties of the TeO2-ZnO-BaO tellurite optical glasses

J. Hrabovsky et al.

Summary: In this study, the glass forming ability and properties of TeO2-ZnO-BaO (TZB) optical glasses prepared at 900 degrees C using the melt-quenching method were thoroughly investigated. The introduction of ZnO and/or BaO led to changes in glass transition temperature, refractive index, and density. Raman scattering was used to analyze the structure of the TZB glasses, which exhibited good thermal stability and a wide spectral region of transparency. These glasses with high refractive index values can be utilized as optical materials.

Engineering the crystallization behavior of CsPbBr3 quantum dots in borosilicate glass through modulating the glass network modifiers for wide-color-gamut displays

Shuaichen Si et al.

Summary: Introducing alkaline-earth metal oxides into glass can modulate the crystallization behavior of CsPbBr3 quantum dots and improve their stability. CsPbBr3 quantum dots embedded in glass (CsPbBr3 QD@glass) exhibit better thermostability and photostability compared to CsPbBr3 quantum dots powder. A white light-emitting diode achieving 124% of NTSC gamut is fabricated using CsPbBr3 QD@glass, K2SiF6:Mn4+ phosphor film, and blue chip-on-board.

Summary: Perovskite quantum dots are promising materials for next-generation backlight displays due to their narrow emission width, high color purity, and tunable luminescence. However, their practical applications are limited by their susceptibility to deterioration and failure under external stimulation. This study successfully prepared CsPbBr3@glass with excellent stability and optical properties, demonstrating its potential in the display industry.

Lithium doping induced self-crystallization of CsPbBr3 nanocrystal glass with improved quantum yield and stability

Dazhao Wang et al.

Summary: The all-inorganic CsPbBr3 nanocrystal (NC) has been extensively studied for its excellent optical properties, but its poor stability has hindered practical applications. A new method using LiBr-induced self-crystallization in borosilicate glass without heat treatment shows promising results with improved luminescent properties and stability. The self-crystallized CsPbBr3 NC glass has potential for applications in white light-emitting diodes (WLED) and opens new avenues for research in perovskite nanocrystals.

Linear and nonlinear optical characteristics of CsPbBr3 perovskite quantum dots-doped borosilicate glasses

Zhousu Xu et al.

Summary: CsPbBr3 perovskite quantum dots embedded in glass exhibit strong visible photoluminescence, with intensity dependent on concentration and heat treatment conditions. Nonlinear optical properties can be determined using a Z-scan technique, showing a crossover between saturated absorption and reverse saturated absorption with changes in QD size and pumping intensity, leading to strong upconversion luminescence associated with two-photon absorption. The findings suggest potential applications of CsPbBr3 QD-containing glasses from solid state lighting to ultrafast optical switches.
