Au nanocakes as a SERS sensor for on site and ultrafast detection of dioxins

Tian Wang et al.

Summary: This paper presents Au nanocakes (Au NCs) as a SERS substrate for sensitive detection of dioxin pollutants. The substrate shows an enhancement factor of approximately 1010, and the limit of detection for dioxins in water samples reaches as low as 5, 5, and 10 ng/mL, respectively. The findings could lead to the development of novel SERS-based sensors for the rapid detection of dioxins in real-world scenarios.

Synergistic function of Au NPs/GeO2 nanozymes with enhanced peroxidase-like activity and SERS effect to detect choline iodide

Ruyi Tang et al.

Summary: A novel Au NPs/GeO2 nanozymes with peroxidase-like activity have been developed as Surface-Enhanced Raman Scattering (SERS) substrates for the detection of ChI. Interestingly, ChI can inhibit the positive synergy in Au NPs/GeO2 nanozymes and slow down the reaction of TMB-H2O2-Au NPs/GeO2 system. This new technique shows high sensitivity and potential application in water environment.

Highly Sensitive and Stable Copper-Based SERS Chips Prepared by a Chemical Reduction Method

Pei Dai et al.

Summary: Cu chips are cheaper but less stable compared to Ag and Au chips for practical SERS applications. By densely depositing Cu NPs onto fabric supports in a chemical reduction method, high sensitivity Cu-based SERS chips were developed. However, long-term stability was an issue. Introduction of Ag onto Cu surface enhanced SERS performances significantly, increasing the enhancement factor and decreasing the LOD, with the additional protection of Ag shell improving long-term stability.
