Product emotional design method based on image metaphor: a technical note

Xing Liu et al.

Summary: This paper proposes a two-step method for reasoning product emotional elements based on image metaphor to solve the deficiencies of traditional methods. It first extracts emotional needs of consumers for products using image metaphor and guided interview, and then transforms tacit emotional needs into explicit design elements using a three-level image metaphor decoding method. The proposed method's effectiveness is demonstrated through the emotional design of electric vehicles, providing innovative support for designers and engineers and serving as a reference for electric vehicle development.

Acquisition Method of User Requirements for Complex Products Based on Data Mining

Juan Hao et al.

Summary: The rapid development of big data technology has changed the traditional user requirement acquisition mode of the manufacturing industry. This paper proposes an acquisition method of user requirements based on patent data mining. By constructing a patent data knowledge base and using the Latent Dirichlet Allocation topic model and K-means algorithm, key functional requirements of products are mined. The importance of demand is determined by rough set theory, and the rationality of demand is verified by user importance performance analysis. The results show that this method can effectively improve the efficiency and accuracy of user requirements acquisition, and be applied to other complex product fields with strong versatility.
