CuS/NiFe-LDH/NF as a Bifunctional Electrocatalyst for Hydrogen Evolution (HER) and Oxygen Evolution Reactions (OER)

Bilal Sarfraz et al.

Summary: Increasing energy demands have led scientists to develop affordable, clean, and renewable energy technologies as alternatives to conventional fossil fuels. Electrochemical water splitting, particularly the production of hydrogen energy, has gained significant attention. The challenge lies in finding an electrocatalyst that can facilitate both oxygen evolution and hydrogen evolution reactions efficiently. The combination of CuS particles with NiFe-LDH has been found to enhance the electrochemical activity of water splitting. The CuS/NiFe-LDH/NF composite acts as an excellent bifunctional electrocatalyst for both HER and OER, with low overpotentials and good stability.
