High-order compact gas-kinetic schemes for three-dimensional flow simulations on tetrahedral mesh

Fengxiang Zhao et al.

Summary: A general framework for the development of high-order compact schemes has been proposed recently, which involves constructing time-accurate evolution solutions, introducing WENO-type weighting functions, modeling time evolution of gas distribution function, and developing compact initial data reconstruction. A compact gas-kinetic scheme (GKS) up to sixth-order accuracy in space and fourth-order in time has been constructed on 2D unstructured mesh. In this paper, the compact GKS up to fourth-order accuracy on three-dimensional tetrahedral mesh will be further constructed with the focus on the WENO-type initial compact data reconstruction.

A compact high-order gas-kinetic scheme on unstructured mesh for acoustic and shock wave computations

Fengxiang Zhao et al.

Summary: This paper constructs a higher-order compact gas-kinetic scheme up to sixth-order accuracy for shock and acoustic wave computations on unstructured mesh. The compactness and high-order accuracy come from consistency between high-order initial reconstruction and high-order gas evolution model. The scheme provides time-accurate flux function and evolving flow variables at cell interfaces.

A Class of New High-order Finite-Volume TENO Schemes for Hyperbolic Conservation Laws with Unstructured Meshes

Zhe Ji et al.

Summary: The article introduces a new high-order shock-capturing TENO scheme for unstructured meshes. By utilizing a tailored stencil selection strategy, the scheme is able to restore high-order accuracy in smooth regions while enforcing ENO property near discontinuities, all while maintaining low numerical dissipation and sharp shock-capturing capability. The performance of the scheme is demonstrated in a set of benchmark cases.
