Superlubricity Achieved with Zwitterionic Brushes in Diverse Conditions Induced by Shear Actions

Shaofei Feng et al.

Summary: Polymer brushes have excellent lubricity on surfaces in water. PMPC molecules gradually transfer from the substrate to the silica probe during friction process, leading to a friction reduction and formation of a uniform hydration layer. The study may assist in developing surface modifications for lubrication enhancement through shear actions.
