They have been employed in various applications, such as lithium ion batteries, supercapacitors, and hydrogen storage materials. The review evaluates the shortcomings of CMPs in energy production and presents potential strategies and synthetic processes for their improvement.

Hierarchically Periodic Macroporous CdS-ZnO Heterojunctions with Multiple Quantum Well-like Band Alignments for Efficient Photocatalytic Hydrogen Evolution without a Cocatalyst

Summary: By pyrolysis of CdZnS solid solution in a polymethyl methacrylate nanoreactor, we successfully constructed a new type of heterostructure consisting of alternate CdS and ZnO grains with good interfaces in the hierarchically periodic macroporous walls. The alternately arranged CdS-ZnO heterojunctions in the macroporous structures led to spatial separation and accumulation of photogenerated electrons and holes, resulting in enhanced carrier utilization. The photocatalytic H2 evolution rate of this CdS-ZnO heterostructure reached 587.8 μmol h-1 without a cocatalyst, demonstrating its high efficiency.

Furthermore, it presents and discusses the photocatalytic functionalities of g-C3N4 in hydrogen evolution, CO2 photoreduction, biological metal ions deterioration, and bacterial sanitization. This comprehensive assessment provides valuable insights for the innovation of effective g-C3N4 catalytic design processes and serves as a useful supplement for researchers in various fields.

Investigation of textile dyeing effluent using activated sludge system to assess the removal efficiency
