Hydrogen Bonding Regulated Flexibility and Disorder in Hydrazone- Linked Covalent Organic Frameworks

Yang Li et al.

Summary: Covalent organic framework (COF) chemistry has been rapidly developing in recent decades. The current focus is on discovering new covalent linkages, topological structures, synthetic methodologies, and potential applications. However, the role of noncovalent bonds on COF structures and their properties has received relatively little attention. This study demonstrates the critical role of hydrogen-bonding interactions in COF crystallinity and structures using a series of hydrazonelinked COFs. The findings suggest that manipulating noncovalent interactions can inspire future developments in COF design, synthesis, and applications.
