First Experience with the Munich Valsalva Implantation Technique (MuVIT) for Cardiac Output Reduction During Standard and Complex Thoracic Endovascular Aortic Repair

Jan Stana et al.

Summary: This study evaluated the technical success and safety of the Munich Valsalva Implantation Technique (MuVIT) in endovascular thoracic aneurysm repair (TEVAR). The results showed that MuVIT is a safe and effective maneuver for CO reduction during TEVAR, although careful patient selection is necessary and potential adverse effects on patients with severe COPD need further evaluation.

A System for Accurate Deployment of Unconstrained Triple-Fenestrated Aortic Arch Endografts

George Joseph et al.

Summary: The study aims to accurately position triple-fenestrated physician-modified endografts in the aortic arch during total arch thoracic endovascular aortic repair. Customized sealable fenestrations with radio-opaque margins are created on the endografts to precisely transpose the arch branch ostial anatomic interrelationship. The technique was successfully used in 31 patients, ensuring proper endograft deployment and blood flow in all arch branches.

The Frozen Elephant Trunk Technique for the Treatment of Type B and Type Non-A Non-B Aortic Dissection

Maximilian Kreibich et al.

Summary: The FET technique is an effective treatment option for patients with acute complicated or chronic Type B or non-A non-B aortic dissection, particularly in cases where primary endovascular repair is not feasible. While the postoperative outcomes are generally acceptable with a low incidence of non-disabling strokes, there is a notable need for aortic re-interventions in the follow-up period. Regular monitoring of patients who have undergone the FET procedure is crucial.

Trends and outcomes of thoracic endovascular aortic repair with open concomitant cervical debranching

Kirthi S. Bellamkonda et al.

Summary: The study examined the effects of concomitant cervical bypass on the perioperative outcomes of TEVAR. It found that TEVAR with cervical debranching was associated with significantly worse outcomes, including increased mortality and morbidity, compared to TEVAR alone. The total morbidity and stroke rate increased with the increasing number of bypasses.

Emergent Triple-Branched TEVAR and Redistribution of the Branches to the Supra-Aortic Target Vessels for Treatment of a Contained Ruptured Descending Aortic Aneurysm Associated With a Chronic Type A Aortic Dissection

Jan Stana et al.

Summary: This study demonstrated the feasibility of using a noncustomized triple-branched arch endograft to treat chronic type A dissection and contained rupture of the false lumen, highlighting the importance of adjusting the graft's configuration based on the patient's anatomy.

Thoracic Endovascular Repair for Aortic Arch Pathologies with Surgeon Modified Fenestrated Stent Grafts: A Multicentre Retrospective Study

Xiaoye Li et al.

Summary: The study evaluated the outcomes of TEVAR for aortic arch pathologies using surgeon modified fenestrated stent grafts, showing high technical success rate, low mortality, and low reintervention rate within 30 days post-operation. Follow-up data demonstrated good clinical outcomes at 24 months.
