This study shows that survivin is highly expressed in nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) tumor tissues. Depleting survivin with shRNA inhibits NPC cell viability, colony formation, and in vivo tumorigenesis. Butein, identified through natural product screening, reduces survivin protein level and promotes its ubiquitination-mediated degradation by enhancing the interaction between survivin and E3 ligase Fbxl7. Butein also suppresses Akt-Wee1-CDK1 signaling, decreases survivin Thr34 phosphorylation, and exhibits strong in vivo anti-tumor activity.

Circ_SMAD4 promotes gastric carcinogenesis by activating wnt/β-catenin pathway
