This review focuses on the deformation mechanisms and microstructural evolutions of the alloy under different conditions, providing insights for its processing and manufacturing. Additionally, the behavior of the alloy under high temperature exposure and cyclic loading is discussed, highlighting the potential for future enhancement and optimization of this and other comparable HEAs.

Effect of Grain Size on the Tribological Behavior of CoCrFeMnNi High Entropy Alloy

Microstructure and texture of severely warm-rolled and annealed coarse-grained CoCrNi medium entropy alloy (MEA): A perspective on the initial grain size effect

Summary: This study investigated the microstructure and texture formations in a coarse-grained starting material and a fine-grained starting material of equiatomic CoCrNi MEA after severe warm-rolling and annealing. The results showed that both materials developed an ultrafine microstructure with limited effect of starting grain size on microstructure and texture formation. The annealed specimens exhibited a remarkable strength-ductility balance due to the ultrafine microstructure and solid solution strengthening.

A review of hot deformation behavior and constitutive models to predict flow stress of high-entropy alloys

Summary: This review article provides an overview of the hot deformation behavior and constitutive description of flow stress in high entropy alloys (HEAs). The potential of hot working for grain refinement, reduction of casting defects, and enhancement of mechanical properties of HEAs is explained. The effects of processing parameters, alloying elements, dynamic precipitation, and the presence of phases on the hot deformation behavior and restoration processes are discussed. The application of processing maps for characterizing flow instability, cracking, flow softening, and dynamic recrystallization during hot forming of HEAs is presented. Various constitutive models and methods for flow stress modeling and flow curve prediction are assessed. Suggestions for future research works are proposed.

Fabrication and performance of SiC-reinforced Cu: Role of the aspect ratio of the SiC reinforcement phase

Summary: SiC particle and SiC whisker-reinforced Cu composites were prepared using pulse intermittent deposition and spark plasma sintering. The formation of core-shell structures solved the agglomeration problem and increased the bonding strength of the interface. The alloy consists of Ta-enriched Laves phase and fine-grained face-centered cubic (FCC) phase, with small grains contributing to superior fine grain strengthening. The precipitated Ta-enriched Laves phase greatly enhances the alloy's mechanical strength.

Precipitation phase and twins strengthening behaviors of as-cast non-equiatomic CoCrFeNiMo high entropy alloys

The HMo4 alloy exhibited good plasticity and high yield strength and tensile strength.

Effects of titanium addition on the microstructure and mechanical properties of quaternary CoCrFeNi high entropy alloy
