Fatigue life prediction of bending polymer films using random forest

Masayuki Kishino et al.

Summary: In this study, the fatigue life of bending polymer films was predicted using machine learning. The random forest model showed accurate and efficient predictions of fatigue life, with a mean absolute percentage error of 22.3% within 1 minute. This contributes to the development of flexible devices.

Mesoscopic and multiscale modelling in materials

Jacob Fish et al.

Summary: Multiscale modelling is a powerful tool for simulating materials behavior across different length and time scales. It aims to simulate continuum-scale behavior using information from computational models of finer scales, rather than relying on empirical constitutive models. Various methods have been developed to bridge multiple length and time scales, including techniques integrating new fields such as machine learning and material design.

Estimation of the configurational heat capacity of polyisobutylene, isobutane and 2,2,4-isomethylpentane above the glass transition temperature

Eri Nishiyama et al.

Summary: This study estimated the configurational heat capacity of polyisobutylene, isobutane, and 2,2,4-isomethylpentane above the glass transition temperature, finding that their configurational heat capacities decrease with increasing temperature, and that the configurational heat capacities for the three substances are different at the same temperature.
