Malvidin-3-O-Glucoside Ameliorates Cadmium-Mediated Cell Dysfunction in the Estradiol Generation of Human Granulosa Cells

Shuer Liang et al.

Summary: This study investigated the protective effects of malvidin-3-O-glucoside (M3G) against cadmium-induced toxicity on female reproduction in KGN cells. M3G was found to reduce Cd-induced cytotoxicity, reactive oxygen species generation, G2/M cell cycle arrest, and promote estradiol (E2) production. Transcriptomic results revealed that M3G controlled the abnormal expression of estrogen-responsive genes. These findings suggest that M3G has great potential as a dietary supplement to prevent Cd-induced female reproductive impairment.

Proteomic Analysis of Silk Fibroin Reveals Diverse Biological Function of Different Degumming Processing From Different Origin

Yaling Wang et al.

Summary: Silk, as a natural fibrin, has been used to create various biomaterials due to its excellent biocompatibility and mechanical properties. This study investigated the effects of different degumming treatments on silk fibroin properties and the impact of silk fibroin membranes on the growth of Schwann cells. The results showed that silk from Zhejiang treated with 0.05% Na2CO3 solution had a better structure and protein composition, while silk fibroin obtained by degumming with 0.5% Na2CO3 solution was more beneficial for cell adhesion and proliferation. This study provides important theoretical and experimental foundations for selecting biomaterials for artificial nerve grafts.

Hydrogen permeation behavior of QP1180 high strength steel in simulated coastal atmosphere

Zhen Zhao et al.

Summary: The hydrogen permeation behavior of QP1180 high strength steel for automobile in a simulated coastal atmosphere environment was studied. The results show that the hydrogen permeation current density increases with the decrease of relative humidity and changes periodically during the corrosion process. Plastic deformation increases the diffusible hydrogen content in steel but reduces the hydrogen permeation current.

Effect of doping in hydroxyapatite as coating material on biomedical implants by plasma spraying method: A review

Itishree Ratha et al.

Summary: Hydroxyapatite (HAp) is commonly used as a bioactive coating material for metallic implants in orthopedic fields due to its good biocompatibility and structural resemblance to natural bone. However, its mechanical properties can be limiting for medical applications. By using doping ions in HAp, the properties can be modified to improve mechanical and biological characteristics for enhanced implant functionality when coated by plasma spraying method.
