Analysis of the mechanism of action of quercetin in the treatment of hyperlipidemia based on metabolomics and intestinal flora

Tongtong Wang et al.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the role of quercetin in the development of hyperlipidemia (HLP) and its underlying mechanisms using gut microbiome and plasma metabolomics analysis. The results showed that quercetin could regulate dyslipidemia, improve liver function, and alter the composition of intestinal flora in HLP rats. These findings suggest that quercetin may reduce lipid levels and improve HLP through its effects on metabolism and intestinal flora.

Biotransformation of 5,7-Methoxyflavones by Selected Entomopathogenic Filamentous Fungi

Mateusz Luzny et al.

Summary: The biotransformation of methoxy derivatives of flavonoids was studied using entomopathogenic fungal strains, showing that the amount and position of the methoxy group influenced transformation rate and product formation. The structures of the products and semi-products indicate cascading transformations. The strains demonstrated the ability to selectively glycosylate the methoxy substituent and demethylate/hydroxylate specific carbons in the substrates' B ring.
