Association between human leukocyte antigen (HLA) and end-stage renal disease (ESRD): a meta-analysis

Summary: We conducted a meta-analysis to determine the association between HLA alleles and ESRD. The results showed no significant association between HLA-B*50, HLA-DQA1*3, B*40, DRB1*12, DRB1*13, and DQA1*6 alleles and ESRD. Further studies with larger sample sizes and adjustments for confounders are needed to confirm these conclusions.

Prevalence and Predictors of Renal Disease in a National Representative Sample of the Romanian Adult Population: Data from the SEPHAR IV Survey

Summary: This study investigated the prevalence and predictors of chronic kidney disease (CKD) in the Romanian adult population. The results showed that the prevalence of CKD was significantly higher in hypertensive individuals compared to those with normal blood pressure. Serum uric acid levels above 6.9 mg/dL were identified as an independent predictor of CKD.
