Aceclofenac and methotrexate combination therapy could influence Th1/Th17 axis to modulate rheumatoid-arthritis-induced inflammation

Sushmita Negi et al.

Summary: This manuscript reviews the importance of the combination drug regimen of methotrexate (MTX) and aceclofenac (ACL) in treating and managing rheumatoid arthritis (RA). The combination treatment can regulate immunological pathways and decrease inflammation associated with RA. It has been shown to regulate the signaling pathway controlled by NF-KB and FOXO1.

Dynamic localization of the Na+-HCO3-co-transporter NBCn1 to the plasma membrane, centrosomes, spindle and primary cilia

Marc Severin et al.

Summary: We found that the localization of NBCn1 in epithelial cells is regulated by a predicted N-terminal beta-sheet and short C-terminal alpha-helical motif. NBCn1 interacts with E-cadherin, DLG1, and RhoA, and localizes to adherens junctions, lamellipodia, filopodia, centrosomes, and primary cilia. Our findings suggest that NBCn1 plays a role in cell cycle progression by trafficking between lateral junctions, the leading edge, and cell division machinery.

Dexmedetomidine Protects against Airway Inflammation and Airway Remodeling in a Murine Model of Chronic Asthma through TLR4/NF-κB Signaling Pathway

Ying Zhou et al.

Summary: The study found that DEX can alleviate airway hyperresponsiveness, inflammation, and remodeling in asthmatic mice, similar to the anti-inflammatory drug dexamethasone. Furthermore, DEX inhibited the activation of the TLR4/NF-kappa B signaling pathway in the lung tissue of asthmatic mice. Therefore, DEX may have potential therapeutic effects in asthma.

Role of SLC4 and SLC26 solute carriers during oxidative stress

Alessia Remigante et al.

Summary: Bicarbonate, a major anion in mammalian tissues and fluids, plays a critical role in cell and systemic pH homeostasis and is involved in transporting ions and substrates across cell membranes. Chloride/bicarbonate exchangers, abundant in erythrocytes and epithelial cells, are particularly susceptible to oxidative stress. This review focuses on the physiological functions and pathophysiological changes of Cl-/HCO3- exchangers belonging to the SLC4 and SLC26 superfamilies in relation to oxidative stress.

Dexmedetomidine Attenuates Lipopolysaccharide-Induced Sympathetic Activation and Sepsis via Suppressing Superoxide Signaling in Paraventricular Nucleus

Jin-Hua Bo et al.

Summary: Research shows that the use of dexmedetomidine can attenuate sympathetic activity and inflammation in sepsis. The drug reduces NADPH oxidase-dependent superoxide production by inhibiting the adenylate cyclase-cAMP-PKA signaling pathway and activating GABA(A) receptors, thus alleviating sympathetic overactivity.

Clinical and Pathogenetic Significance of Amylase Level and Microtomographic Index of Synovial Fluid in Various Joint Lesions

I. N. Schendrigin et al.

Summary: The aim of this study was to investigate the level of amylolytic activity and microtomographic index of synovial fluid density, and to determine their clinical and pathogenetic significance in various joint diseases. The results showed that pathological joint fluid samples had higher levels of amylolytic activity compared to synovial fluid from healthy joints. The study also revealed correlations between the level of amylolytic activity in synovia and specific joint pathologies. Furthermore, it was found that concentrations of uric acid, inorganic phosphorus, and total protein in different types of joint damage may affect the X-ray density of synovial fluid. This study provides new insights into the role of synovial fluid density and suggests X-ray microtomography as a method for investigating joint pathologies.
