The analytical and numerical solution of the problem of stretching a system of parallel elements with random strength characteristics taking into account the postcritical stage of deformation and rigidity of the loading system

Valeriy E. Wildemann et al.

Summary: This work examines the influence of the postcritical stage of deformation and rigidity of the loading system on material deformation. Using a system of parallel-connected elements with random strength characteristics and postcritical stage of deformation as an example, the authors predict the moment of system destruction caused by the loss of stability in the deformation process by considering the rigidity of the loading system. The proposed analytical solution allows for the calculation of systems with a large number of elements.

A survey of fatigue properties from wrought and additively manufactured Ti-6Al-4V

Jeremy H. Rao et al.

Summary: Research shows that under fully reversed loading conditions, additive manufactured (AM) materials exhibit significantly lower fatigue strengths than wrought materials after approximately 10^5 cycles. Additionally, the fatigue strengths of AM materials are noticeably reduced under high cycle conditions.

Selective laser melting of Ti6Al4V alloy: Process parameters, defects and post-treatments

Anil Kumar Singla et al.

Summary: This review critically examines the important contributions related to selective laser melting (SLM) process parameters, defects, and post-processing techniques for Ti6Al4V alloy. Proper selection of process parameters and post-treatment methods are crucial in improving mechanical behavior of SLMed components. Efforts have been made to identify correlations between SLM parameters and defects, as well as analyzing the impact of post-processing approaches on mechanical behavior and biocompatibility of SLM-fabricated Ti6Al4V alloy.
