Multi-GPU-Parallel and Tile-Based Kernel Density Estimation for Large-Scale Spatial Point Pattern Analysis

Guiming Zhang et al.

Summary: This study proposes a multi-GPU parallel and tile-based kernel density estimation algorithm to overcome the computational challenges in spatial point pattern analysis. Experimental results show that the parallel algorithm achieves significant speedups over running on a single GPU, especially for larger problem sizes. The tile-based strategy enables high-resolution density estimation over large areas even with limited GPU memory.
